Fort Carson Soldier Among Two Dead in Non-Combat Incident
Robinson, Texas — A 26-year-old U.S. Army sergeant from central Texas died in a training-related accident in Iraq on May 31, 2026, military officials confirmed.
Sgt. Devin A. Seibel, assigned to the Air Ambulance Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Combat Aviation Brigade at Fort Carson, Colorado, was supporting Operation Inherent Resolve when the incident occurred at Erbil Airbase.
The accident also claimed the life of British Lance Corporal James Freeman, 29. Officials described it as a non-combat event, and an investigation remains underway.
