Social media influencers and former professional kickboxers Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate were arrested Saturday evening in Miami by U.S. Marshals acting on an extradition request from the United Kingdom.
The arrests occurred outside the James L. Knight Center, where the brothers were scheduled to host the debut event of a Russia-based bareknuckle boxing promotion alongside former UFC champion Jon Jones.33

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the U.S. Marshals Service detained the brothers pursuant to extradition proceedings in accordance with international treaties. British authorities are seeking their return to the UK to face prosecution.
The UK Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) announced additional charges against the pair following new evidence from Bedfordshire Police. These stem from allegations involving four more victims, bringing the total number of alleged victims in the UK case to seven.

The alleged offenses are said to have taken place between July 2010 and August 2017 in the East of England region, north of London (primarily Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire areas).

- Andrew Tate (39): Seven further counts of rape, three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation, three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and 19 charges relating to indecent images of a child and extreme pornography.
- Tristan Tate (38): One count of sexual assault, two counts of rape, and three counts of arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation.
These add to previously authorized UK charges from May 2025 (a combined 21 counts including rape, actual bodily harm, and human trafficking). The CPS has formally requested extradition from the United States.

Malcolm McHaffie, Head of the CPS Special Crime Division, stated: “We have decided to prosecute Andrew and Tristan Tate for further offences including rape, arranging or facilitating trafficking for sexual exploitation and offences relating to indecent images of a child. These charging decisions followed receipt of a further file of evidence from Bedfordshire Police and bring the total number of alleged victims in this case to seven. The CPS has requested the extradition of the Tates from the US. They have been arrested and await extradition proceedings to the UK.”
Background on the Tate Brothers’ Legal Cases
Andrew and Tristan Tate, dual U.S.-British citizens, rose to prominence through online content promoting hyper-masculinity, wealth, and controversial views on relationships. They previously faced criminal charges in Romania since 2022, including allegations of forming an organized criminal group to traffic and sexually exploit women (which they have consistently denied). Travel restrictions in Romania were lifted in early 2025, after which the brothers relocated to the United States.
In the UK, Bedfordshire Police and the CPS have been investigating sexual offense allegations for several years. The brothers have also been the subject of a separate criminal inquiry in Florida announced in 2025.
Statements from Authorities and Defense
Bedfordshire Assistant Chief Constable Karena Thomas said officers have worked closely with the CPS and international partners: “There is no place for male violence against women and girls. We will continue to work tirelessly to support victims and investigate all reports made to us.”
Attorney Joseph McBride, representing the Tate brothers, told media outlets after the arrest that the brothers deny all allegations. He described the new UK charges as “ridiculous [and] salacious” and criticized the timing as an “outrage,” noting the brothers’ compliance with Romanian court appearances and ongoing U.S. legal matters, including a planned Florida trial. McBride emphasized that the brothers have traveled internationally for years “without incident.”33
